Started at Folicle Salon and Spa: July 2007

Edward Woody pursues continuing education passionately for himself and employees. He believes there is always room for growth in everyone. Education enables him to be more confident and able to provide new and exciting styles for his clients.

    Edward received his training at Carolina Beauty College located in Greensboro, NC. He most recently has trained with Vidal Sassoon in Santa Monica and London, UK. He has been to Soest, Netherlands twice to train at Keune Corporate Headquarters where he received one-on-one training in order to utilize his salons products efficiently. He has also trained with such legends as Antoinette Beenders, Davis Adams, Peter Gray, Roy Peters and Beth Minardi.

    Edward worked for Aveda salon and spa for 10 years.  Edward held the titles of product knowledge educator of Neil Corp (The distributor for Aveda in the Southeast) as well as senior director.  Edwards duties included: hair stylist educator for Aveda Corporation (where he traveled across the country teaching), involved in the education of the stylists and assistant stylists advocating their education and mentoring program.

    In addition he was a 2005 nominee for NAHA Editorial Stylist, hairstylist for Bagdley Mischka, Ellen Tracy, Davis Green, Sandoval and runway shows in New York Fashion week.

    His editorial work has graced the pages of many magazines including, Weddings Unveiled, Charlotte Taste, Charlotte Magazine, Elevate and Modern Salon Publications. He has also worked on a campaign for Tastee, a make-up line that was launched in 2009.
   
In 2007 Edward had the opportunity to pursue his goal of opening Folicle Salon and Spa in Charlotte, NC. Before opening his Salon, Keune offered everything he needed from education, a product line and, especially a wonderful color line. After working with the hair products and color line he decided to dedicate the salon to using Keune products. In 2008, Salon Today Magazine, nominated Folicle Salon and Spa for “Top 20 Salons of Distinction.”  When designing Folicle Salon and Spa, Edward had an eco-chic esthetic in mind. Edward is adamant about recycling; the Floor in the Shampoo area is made out of recycled tennis shoes and parts of the furniture are made out of recycled banana plants. Being in a house over one hundred years old in the historic district, helps embrace the ambiance and feel of the salon and spa. Edward is proud to say that his salon and spa resembles a homelike atmosphere.

    In conclusion, Edward has worked in Charlotte, NC since 1993. In addition he trained under Billy Fong at Studio B for two years in Honolulu, HI. He is currently a National Artisan for Keune Haircosmetics where he travels around North America teaching and performing hair shows as well as having the dignified title of president and CEO of Folicle Salon and Spa.
